Swaddlebees pocket nappies

Swaddlebees nappies are a slim fitting, stay-dry, multi-sized pocket nappy. Currently available in side snapping style, soon to be also available in aplix fastening. It offers all the advantages of stay-dry pocket nappies, but is the best fitting and trimmest nappy we have come across.

A patented two part nappy system that offers which is great for containing leaks and keeps baby dry and comfortable.. Made with a waterproof polyester knit outer fabric to keep wetness inside, and a layer of buttery soft Malden Mills micro-fleece inside next to the baby’s skin to wick moisture away and draw it into the absorbent removable insert.

This is probably the trimmest and best fitting pocket diaper you will ever find. The crotch area has been cut narrow to reduce unnecessary bulk between the baby’s legs, yet still leaves enough room to stuff with as much inserts as needed. The leg openings are highly adjustable to especially accommodate both slim and chubby thighed babies. Separate waist and thigh settings allow you to adjust each opening independently to ensure a snug fit.

What is remarkable about this nappy is that even with their close fit, the elasticised areas remain gentle and comfortable against baby, with no restriction of movement or digging in (you can check this by running your finger around the inside of the elasticised area). This, together with the low bulk between the legs, makes for the ultimate in comfort for your baby which is ideal for playtimes!

A further advantage of these nappies is that their shape is very like that of ordinary pants and they are easy to pull down AND back up without bunching between the legs. This makes them ideal for use as a pull-up when your child is making the transition from nappies to potty training.

These are inserts specially-designed for Swaddlebees nappies, and it is highly recommended that they are used together as a system. We now have the new model of Swaddlebees nappy in stock. The crotch has been cut slightly wider than on the original version to allow other brands of inserts to be used. Trimness and absorbency
The pictures below illustrate just how slim Swaddlebees nappies are: a Swaddlebees medium-sized nappy and insert is pictured with a Huggies and a Pampers nappy of the same size.

Because of their trimness Swaddlebees will probably not suit every baby for every occasion. However, because the inserts are made from hemp or microterry, which is more absorbent weight by weight than cotton, it is very absorbent for its size. On most babies, one hemp insert will last around 1.5 - 2 hours (absorbency 6 - 8oz depending upon size) and the microterry a little longer. Some experts recommend changing nappies this frequently, but in the UK people tend to change real nappies every 3 - 4 hours. If you wish to make your nappy last longer use two Swaddlebees inserts (if your baby has outgrown his small nappies the small inserts would be suitable to boost the medium nappies and so on), or boost with a microfibre cloth folded into three or four layers on top of or wrapped around your insert. This will still give a very trim fit as there will be no 'bunch up' between the legs.

Swaddlebees nappies may suit some babies for night time, stuffed with two Swaddlebees inserts. However, for many babies, particularly heavier wetters, they wouldn't be the nappy of choice for night time.

Small
For new babies until 4 - 6 months of age or longer depending on the baby's growth. Weight estimate up to 16lb (7.3Kg), waist 10 - 19 inches (25 - 48cm), thigh 8 -13 inches (20 - 33cm), rise 14.5 inches (37cm).

Medium
For babies aged from around 4 - 6 months until 12 months or longer, depending on the baby's growth. Weight estimate 14 - 25lb (6.4 - 11.4Kg). Waist 14 - 21 inches (36 - 53cm), thigh 10 - 15 inches, (25 - 38cm). rise 16 inches (41cm).

Large
For children aged from around 10 months until 3 years or more. Weight range estimate 22 - 40lb (10 - 18Kg), waist 15 - 24 inches (38 - 61cm), thigh 10 - 17 inches (25 - 43cm), rise 18 inches (46cm).
